Based on the global results, laser treatment of veins is the most successful method of treating varicose veins.
The laser treatment of varicose veins consists of closing the damaged superficial veins using heat. Laser uses a beam of light that heats the wall of the vein from the inside and leads to the closure of the damaged veins, thereby redirecting blood flow to healthy veins. In this way we avoid a classical surgical intervention on patient’s veins which consists of extracting the veins. As a result of laser surgery, the patient’s visual and subjective problems with veins are eliminated.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, it is short (it takes about 30 minutes), there are no wounds due to cuts, scars, major blood bruising, and the patient is immediately fit after the procedure. The patient has a sense of relief since previous problems with the varicose veins have been resolved.
The advantage of this method is the possibility of carrying out interventions simultaneously on both legs. During the summer months we perform this intervention with the recommendation of wearing elastic stockings for 2 to 4 weeks.
