Breast augmentation is a surgical method that improves the appearance of a breast and increases its volume. It is one of the most common cosmetic surgeries for women. The desired results are achieved by inserting implants that are designed to enhance small, underdeveloped breasts or restore volume after a period of lactation. Selection of the proper implant size is solely up to the patient, but it is performed with the involvement of the surgeon. Also, breast augmentation can be beneficial for correcting various physical disabilities, such as breast reconstruction after mastectomy (removal of the breast), and/or correction of asymmetric breasts.
For breast enlargement surgery we use the top quality, world-renowned brands of implants. The patients get a life-time warranty for the implants, and it is not necessary to replace them during the patient’s life.
The implant is inserted by creating very small incisions which can be created horizontaly under the breast, in the area around the areola or in the armpit area. Also, depending on the quality of the breast tissue, the implants can be placed below gland (subglandular) or under the muscle (submuscular).
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia, and the duration rarely exceeds one hour.
The pace of recovery after this intervention varies depending on the patient. Within 24 hours after the surgery, the patient is discharged from the hospital, and she is given an adequate therapy and advise about further care and medical checkups. Severe physical activities should be avoided within 4 weeks following the surgery. Sutures are removed 14 days after the intervention, and the scars become poorly visible over time and are often barely noticeable.
